Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its spring 2017 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

Artwork by 73 students is featured in SUNY Oneonta's 2017 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. On display through May 13 at the Martin-Mullen Art Gallery in the college's Fine Arts Center, the exhibition features more than 100 works by student artists. Featured artworks were chosen from an open jury process and works entered by the art faculty. Painting, drawing, sculpture, digital print, digital video and an assortment of mixed media make up this year's offerings.

About 700 students earned their undergraduate, graduate or law degrees at Hofstra University's midyear commencement ceremonies on December 21, 2016 at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Watch videos or see photos from the various ceremonies at hofstra.edu/commencement.

A total of 192 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2016-2017 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher. Student award winners receive a certificate, a gift card to the campus bookstore, and an invitation to attend the annual Susan Sutton Smith Lecture and reception. Dr. Florian Reyda, professor of biology, will deliver this year's Susan Smith Lecture titled, "Parasites, Evolution and Us," at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in the Otsego Grille of the Morris Conference Center on campus.

SUNY Oneonta's Hooked On Tonics a cappella group competed in an International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) Northeast Quarterfinal on Feb. 25 at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The 14-member ensemble performed a set that included "All Time Low" by John Bellion, "I Want it That Way" by the Backstreet Boys and a Michael Jackson medley. "All Time Low" and "I Want it That Way" featured original arrangements by group member Sydney Kurnit, who is a sophomore at SUNY Oneonta.

More than 300 students met requirements for graduation from SUNY Oneonta following the Fall 2016 semester. Graduates were honored at a December recognition ceremony hosted by College President Nancy Kleniewski and held in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House. They also are eligible to participate in the college's commencement on May 13.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car has selected SUNY Oneonta student Allison Ravit to receive its Enterprise Scholarship Award. Ravit, who is majoring in business economics at SUNY Oneonta, was a management trainee intern this past summer at Enterprise.

Twenty-eight members of SUNY Oneonta's Zeta Beta Tau fraternity chapter helped organize SUNY Oneonta's third annual Gift of Life Bone Marrow Donor Registration Drive on Oct. 26 and 27.

Students at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan Campus, located in Teaneck, NJ have been named to the Dean's and Honors Lists for the Spring 2016 semester.

The State University of New York at New Paltz has announced its Dean's List for the spring 2016 semester. Dean's List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade-point average in a semester with a full-time course load.
